Gray Moves To Phantoms - DEA Midfield Left In Shambles

February 11 (Bedford, NH)  Dubois Engineering Associates (DEA) Captain Mike Cloutier announced today that efforts to resign free agent midfielder Jimmy Gray have failed.  Gray has signed a 2 year deal with Phantoms of New Hampshire.  The sudden departure of the central midfielder leaves a gaping hole for DEA to fill.  Cloutier remarked "It will be tough to fill his slot.  We'll need somebody to step up if we intend on successfully defending our New Hampshire Men's Summer Soccer League Division 1 Championship."

Gray, the West High School Boys Coach, is excited about the move to the USL Division III Phantoms but said "I plan on retiring with DEA."  About the signing he added, "DEA couldn't match the offer from Phantoms.  They had to let me go."  DEA General Manager Jim Cloutier stated, "Let him go.  He'll be back."  DEA sponsor (and stopperback) Dale Dubois could not be reached for comment.

Will Gray ever return to DEA?

As for the Phantoms, their midfield improves but the question is, at what position.  The central midfield is already solid so there is speculation that Gray will move to one of the outside slots.  Phantoms G.M. Jim DeDeus had this to say about Gray, "Jimmy has really great touch.  I have some doubts about his conditioning but he's definitely a player."
